Whānau & family
Where can I find parenting support in New Zealand?
Plunket, Whānau Āwhina, parenting helplines, and local family centres offer free or low-cost help.
Parenting is hard in every season. New Zealand has free and low-cost supports: Plunket for under-fives health and development, Whānau Āwhina PlunketLine for early parenting questions, and parenting helplines such as Parent Help for behaviour and stress.
Your GP, midwife, or Well Child Tamariki Ora nurse can link you to local groups. The Resilience Programme directory lists Western Bay family supports; nationwide, govt.nz family services pages are a solid map.
Educational signposting only — if a child is in immediate danger, call 111.
