Health & costs
Can a Community Services Card lower health costs?
The card can reduce some prescription and GP fees if you qualify — apply through Work and Income.
The Community Services Card helps lower the cost of some health services and prescriptions for people on lower incomes. Eligibility depends on income and family size — rules change, so check Work and Income’s current criteria.
Apply online or at a MSD office. Show the card at the pharmacy and GP reception. It is different from a High User Health Card, which is based on frequent visits.
If cost stops you picking up medication, talk with your GP practice about options and check whether you qualify. Not financial advice.
