Why create a Tiny Steps account?
A free Tiny Steps account saves your progress, personalises ideas to your child's age and stage, and keeps journal memories safe across devices.
Tiny Steps is free for every whānau in Aotearoa. Creating an account takes a few minutes and unlocks the parts of the app meant to grow with your family over time.
What your account gives you
Your account saves settings, optional child profiles, journal entries, saved activities, and activity history. If you use Tiny Steps on more than one phone — or share care with a partner or family member — everything stays in sync.
The milestones tracker becomes a genuine record over time — something you might look back on with your child when they are older. If you step away for a while, you can return and pick up where you left off.
Personalised to your whānau
When you add a child profile, Today ideas and activity suggestions can reflect age and stage. That does not mean pressure to do more — it means fewer ideas that feel too young or too advanced for the moment you are in.
Seasonal activity packs and saved favourites also stay with your account, so you are not rebuilding your rhythm every time you open the app.
Privacy and trust
Any tool you invite into your whānau's life deserves a moment of scrutiny. What data does it collect? How is it stored? What happens if you leave?
Tiny Steps is designed to collect only what is needed to make the app work. There are no ads. There is no behavioural profiling. The information you add about your child — their age, their milestones, your notes — stays yours.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings.
Sharing with other caregivers
You do not need every grandparent or auntie to create their own login. Many whānau use one account together, or one caregiver manages the app while others join the play.
Sharing the daily activity with extended whānau can be as simple as reading today's idea aloud, sending a screenshot, or opening a shareable activity card. The connection matters more than who pressed sign in.
Deciding together
If you are co-parenting or caring alongside family members, it is worth a quick conversation: who will manage the account, who will add milestones, who wants to see the daily activities. Small agreements early prevent frustration later.
Sign up when you are ready. The app is here for ordinary days — one gentle step at a time.
